One of our favorite Torrance neighborhoods is just east of Redondo Beach and is known as Southwood. This area has a wonderful 
residential feel and truly feels like a neighborhood with a great sense of community. Located just a short distance the ocean, these wonderful neighborhoods offer a more moderate climate than neighborhoods even just slightly farther east in Torrance. Cool ocean breezes and moderate summer heat are a definite bonus in this area of town. The area has a great “neighborhood” feel with charming homes, tree lined streets, and award winning local schools that are generally walkable from every area of Southwood. This is definitely a neighborhood where people are out and about…walking their dogs, walking kids to school, and enjoying the neighborhood. The area consists primarily of single family homes but there is a great 55+ senior condo complex known as Village Court in Southwood.
